he's dangerous, and I don't know what he'll pull here
but he's the reason for everything awful that happened to me back home

Isaac warned me of him months ago. He said he would inform me if he ever came here, but he failed to do that.

[Which could be for a number of reasons. He won't hold that against Isaac just yet.

Now this Peter Hale has revealed himself, and he needs to be dealt with.]

If he attempts to harm you or anyone else, only say the word and I can put him in his place.

If none of them could sense him, then it's possible he did find a way to shield himself, yes.

[In other words, they shouldn't feel responsible. They had no way of knowing.]

He may know better than to try anything here, but if he's already known for a lack of control, then we should be prepared for anything.

it's not /lack/ of control
he consciously makes the decisions to kill the people he's killed and torture everyone else
he's a sociopath and that's what worries me

[That does make it more complicated. Most monsters are unable to get a hold on their urges, and that's what leads to their murder streaks. Peter Hale appears to simply be a killer who also happens to be a werewolf, which means he has the boosted power to carry out his crimes.]

What drives him to kill? Is it purely the desire to see others suffer?

I don't know
he said at one point that it was to get revenge for his family
but he's been killing people that had nothing to do with that
and he's also doing it to try and get scott to join his pack
it changes all the time
