I know there's been a lot of vampire crap going on around here lately and you've been busy dealing with some of it on your own, but I have an important question, Cas.
Has Dean mentioned anything to you about daggers or trying to take out Original vampires on his own?
I know we were both working on ways to protect ourselves and everyone else from them, but if he's trying to do this by himself, he's doing it in a way that's about to get him torn to shreds.
They're not happy.

Maybe nothing, this time.
He definitely shoved a dagger into Elijah's chest and buried him in the woods.
Now another vampire is missing. While normally that wouldn't bother me, if Dean did it, he's painting a target on his back and we don't have the tools we need to effectively fight back.
If he didn't do it, then the timing is really damn convenient.

[This is the first that Castiel's heard of Dean taking a dagger to Elijah, though he really shouldn't be surprised. The last thing they need is to incite some kind of war between their sides, though.]

Have you asked Dean directly?

I asked him about Elijah and he dodged the question. We fought.
I haven't asked him about this one yet. I don't know what good it'll do me. Whether he did it or not, he'll shut down and tell me that he didn't, then ream me over being a 'monster sympathizer.'
I'm not. I haven't changed, but the situation here isn't what it is back home and he knows that. He HAS to know that.
We can't afford to make more enemies.

I agree with your take on it. There's no point in lashing out at each other when death isn't permanent here. It will only raise tensions and make it more difficult for each of us to live our lives here.
If the the vampires are actively attacking others, then I would intervene, as I did with Angelus. But if Dean's targeting them simply for existing, then he's only going to make all of our lives more difficult.

I don't like letting monsters roam free any better than Dean does, but we have to change the way we think if we want any kind of a life here.
Don't think any of us want to be caught in a cycle of killing each other over and over again.

I'm glad you were able to do something about Angelus.
Klaus is a pain in the ass and I expect him to get his hands dirty sooner rather than later, but Elijah's an ally, or close enough to it.
Anyway, thanks for confirming things for me. Looks like I have some detective work to do.

I'll be keeping my eye on Klaus as best I can. The same goes for Peter Hale.

Elijah has been helpful so far, from what I've seen. Whether or not that's yet another deceit remains to be seen, but we have no choice but to listen to his advice for now.
